The Word of God
The Word and God are synonymous, the same thing said in a different way. If we do not read Gods Word and let the power of Gods Word work in our life, its just paper covered in red and black ink bound with leather, without getting hold of the truths it containsits futile as if laid as weight on a cancer patient and that person dies.
We must get The Word deposited in us. Why? Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by The Word of God (Romans 10:17).
The Word of God is truth and powerful and has authority. And this authority we shall call veracious authority. As Truth, we hold it true without doubts in our thinking; for, The Word veracious is taken from the word veracity and this is truth, or that which is always taken as true beyond a shadow of doubt. For example, when we were in school we were taught in mathematics class the simple truth that 1+1=2. The teacher was speaking with veracious authority at that point. This simple mathematical formula is a fact that does not have to be arbitrated, argued over or justified that it is true; its an irrefutable statement of mathematical fact. As in the above example, anything that is truth has authority by virtue of the fact that it is true. Paul the Apostle acknowledges this: For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth2 Corinthians 13:8. Truth has authority, and to reject truth is to incur judgment. Second Thessalonians 2:12 reads: That they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
God always tells the truth; thus, his words have veracious authority. God is not a man, that He should lie has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?Numbers 23:19. My covenant I will not break, nor alter The Word that has gone out of My lipsPsalms 89:34. When we are accepting of the authority of Gods Words, we prove its power. The moment you (and I) unreservedly accept the authority of Gods Words you will experience its power. This may not immediately materialize, but it immediately becomes a creative and productive factor in our lives.
I believe every one of us has a spiritual womb, where The Word of God enters in and germinates, and we conceive a miracle. God wants us to be able to conceive a miracle. With your meditating on The Word day and night, you become spiritually pregnant and bring forth fruits.
The Integrity of The Word
Integrity is the adherence to a code of incorruptible values having soundness and completeness. Integrity is a reflection of Gods character and is embodied by his Word. Gods nature never changes because his Word always remains the same. Because we have been created in the image of God, integrity should also be one of our defining characteristics. Once Christians get a hold of the power and infallibility of The Word and begin to operate in it, the world will see a demonstration of Gods nature and the authority that His Word carries.
Now it is important for us as believers to feed daily on Gods WordsI Peter 2:2As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of The Word, that you may grow thereby. Feeding daily on Gods Word helps us grow and develop spiritually. In order for us to prosper financially, live in divine heath and enjoy all the provision and blessings that God has purchased for us through Christ Jesus, we must stay built up spiritually, as we read in Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
The paramount issue in a believers life is putting Gods Word first. Doing this will enable us to claim all of our New Covenant benefits and blessing, as well as become effective in walking in the God-kind of love, being led by the Holy Spirit and reaching others with the gospel.
We can only defeat the devil by The Word of God; this is the sword that slashes the devil down. Jesus overcame the devil in the wilderness by quoting The Word of God.
The Word then becomes our confession. Here are few examples of the believers confession. We are no longer unworthy, God has accepted us in the Beloved; He has made me a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the lightEphesians 1:6, Colossians 1:12. We are no longer subject to sickness, Jesus himself took our infirmity and bore our sicknesses; by his stripes we were healed; and God send his word and healed themMatthew 8:17, 1 Peter2:24, and Psalms 107:20. We choose this way: For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned; or snaredMatthew 12:37, Proverbs 6:2; we speak truthProverbs 8:7; we say what God says about us.
The Word will set us free
The Word of God tells us in John 8:31-32 that the truth will set us free. The truth it is referring to is contained in Gods Word. Not only is the truth contained in Gods Word, but the truth is Gods Word. We know as Christians we are to daily renew ourselves with The Word of God. The purpose of doing this is not just a ritualistic commandment to prove our obedience. The purpose is so that we can have the delivering power of The Word of God embedded in us so that as trials appear, we can be set free and so that when temptations arise, we will not yield. The Word says, "Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!" Hiding Gods Word in our hearts will prevent us from sinning. Within Gods Word is the power to eliminate and overpower the temptation to yield to sin.
Jesus said that out of the abundance of our heart our mouth speaks. So if we meditate and receive The Word of God, we will speak The Word of God and that will activate the promises of God in our lives.
The war is everywhereits in the world, in the church, and in our mind. The words of the world are continually at war with The Word of God. We must choose which seed we will keep and what seed we will reject. The seed we nurture will grow and become strong in our hearts. Out of the abundance of your heart, your mouth will speak. Let your words be rich with Gods true Words!
